Upconversion Luminescent Humidity Sensors Based on Lanthanide-Doped MOFs

Lanthanide-doped metal-organic frameworks (Y/Yb/Er-MOF) were synthesized by a low-cost solvothermal method. The obtained Y/Yb/Er-MOF shows the cooperative upconversion luminescence of Yb3+ and Er3+ (Yb3+-sensitized) irradiated continuous wave 980 nm laser. In order to explore potential application in relative humidity (RH) sensors, RH responsiveness was investigated measuring intensity changes luminescence. possesses two centers, which forms emission at 500 through effect, achieves 660 excited state absorption successive energy transfer from Yb3+. Hence, ratio meter sensor for is constructed based on Y/Yb/Er-MOF. results show that response presents linear relationship range 11–95%. cycle stability responses with luminescence, recovery more than 93% each time. Therefore, humidity-sensitive material great applications such as sensors.
